These baked doughnuts are packed with real pumpkin, all those delicious pumpkin pie spices and topped with sprinkles that TASTE. LIKE. PUMPKIN. SPICE. I made those sprinkles a couple posts ago and I’ve been loving them so much, so I had to use them again for these doughnuts!

I used to dislike baked doughnuts because they were so dense, but this recipe makes such light and soft doughnuts, it’s definitely worth a try! If you’re in a pumpkin spice cupcake mood, but want something a little bit different, this is it! This recipe makes 6 large doughnuts and 11 mini doughnuts, which are perfect for sneakily snacking whenever you’re walking past the kitchen.

Ingredients for Pumpkin Spice Doughnuts

  • pumpkin cupcake batter – This is the same batter from my Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes recipe and it works so perfectly for baked donuts too!
  • pumpkin spice sprinkles – get the recipe here! They taste like pumpkin spice and are a great item to have in your pantry during the colder weather. Sprinkle them on anything for a little bit of pumpkin flavor!

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Doughnuts

Generously spray a doughnut pan with cooking spray. Spoon the Pumpkin Spice cupcake batter into a piping bag and snip off the end to create a large, round tip. Pipe the batter into the doughnut pan.

Bake the doughnuts for 15-20 minutes at 350F, until a skewer inserted into the doughnuts comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then flip onto a wire rack and cool completely.

Whisk together the whipping cream, vanilla extract and milk in a bowl. The glaze should be thick enough to coat the doughnuts and be opaque, but thin enough that any swirls or ripples in the glaze smooth out when you give the doughnut a little jiggle.

Dunk the doughnuts into the glaze and return them to the wire rack.

Sprinkle with the Pumpkin Spice Sprinkles before the glaze dries and enjoy!
