Red and Green Christmas Jellies

Course snacks
Cuisine american

Ingredients

  • 1 3- ounce box of red jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 ½ tsp powdered gelatin

  • 1 3- ounce box of green jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 ½ tsp powdered gelatin

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 tbsp powdered gelatin
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup boiling water
  • Whipped cream and festive sprinkles for decoration optional

Instructions

  • Make the red and green layers: Make one colour at a time by pouring the contents of one box of red or green jello and 1 ½ tsp of gelatin into a bowl and combine. Add 1 cup of boiling water and mix until everything is completely dissolved. Repeat with the other colour in a separate bowl. Set both bowls aside.
  • Make the white layer: Combine the condensed milk and boiling water. Pour ½ cup cold water into a bowl and sprinkle over 2 tbsp of powdered gelatin. Allow this to sit for 2-3 minutes, then add ½ cup boiling water and mix well. Add this to the condensed milk mixture and fully combine.
  • Pour½ cup of the green jello into an 8”x5” dish lined with plastic wrap. Place in the fridge for 20 minutes, or until fully set. Pour ½ cup of the white layer on top and return to the fridge for 20 minutes. Pour ½ cup of the red jello on top and return to the fridge. Repeat, alternating with red and green jello, making sure to have a white layer in between each colour.
  • Once the jelly has fully set, unmold and slice into cubes or use a festive cookie cutter.
  • If desired, top with some whipped cream and festive sprinkles and enjoy!
