Pomegranate Lemonade

Get those taste buds ready for the warmer weather with this sweet, tart lemonade! This recipe is a bit of a spin on pink lemonade, because it uses pomegranate juice instead of cranberry juice. The pomegranates give it a beautiful magenta colour, and it looks just as beautiful in real life as it does on camera. Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar and the amount of water, because this drink is quite sweet, but the tartness of the pomegranate and lemon juice creates a lovely balance.

Pomegranate Lemonade

Get those taste buds ready for the warmer weather with this sweet, tart lemonade! This recipe is a bit of a spin on pink lemonade, because it uses pomegranate juice instead of cranberry juice.
Servings 2 liters

Ingredients

  • 1-1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 ½ cups lemon juice
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • ¼ cup pomegranate seeds

Instructions

  • Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a pan over high heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, and allow to fully cool. You can refrigerate this to speed up the process, or do this the night before.
  • Add the lemon juice, pomegranate juice and an additional 2 cups of water to the sugar syrup, and mix together. You could add sparkling water instead to add another dimension to the drink! If you find that it is too sweet for your tastes, you can add up to 2 more cups of water.
  • To make the ice cubes, place some pomegranate seeds inside an ice cube tray, and fill it half way with water. Tap water is absolutely fine, but if you would like ice cubes that are quite clear, use distilled or purified water. Place in the freezer until they are completely frozen, then top with more water. Return to the freezer to fully freeze, and add to the lemonade for a cute effect.
