Calvin Klein Bra and Undies Meringue
I’m so strangely pleased with how these meringue turned out! I actually messed up the first time and couldn’t get the egg whites to form stiff peaks, but that might have been a blessing in disguise because now I’m able to tell you guys what not to do! These meringue are so light and melt in your mouth, and it is so versatile that you can pipe it into any shape that you like! If undies aren’t your thing, you can make anything that you like! This would make an adorable and amusing present for a friend, especially when wrapped in Calvin Klein packaging!

Ingredients
- 3 large egg whites
- ¾ cup sugar
- 3 squares dark chocolate
Instructions
- Place the egg whites and sugar in a heatproof bowl, and set over a pot of simmering water. Whisk constantly until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture feels warm, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the bowl from the pot of water, and beat on high speed with an electric mixer until very stiff peaks form, about 8 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and preheat the oven to 200F. Transfer the meringue to a piping bag fitted with a small, round piping tip, and pipe on 2” long bra and underwear shapes. Then bake these in the oven until they are completely crisp, about 1 hour.
- If you would like the undies to have a black elastic band, melt some dark chocolate, and dip the top of the undies into it once they are finished baking and have cooled. Then allow these to set, and serve!

Notes
Here are some key points to keep in mind when making meringue:
– Use room temperature egg whites.
– Make sure that the bowl, whisk, and anything that you are using is clean and free of any oil/fat residue.
– Make sure that the water in the pot is simmering, and is not boiling.
– Only heat the eggs until the sugar has dissolved, and they have become warm. Then remove them from the heat right away.
– Piping a dollop of meringue under each corner of the parchment paper (as shown in the video) is a great way of keeping it in place while you’re piping the design.
– If the meringue becomes sticky after you’ve baked it in the oven, just pop it back into the oven at 200F for 20 minutes to dry out.
– Baking meringue on a rainy or humid day will be very difficult, because of the humidity in the air. Baking it on dryer days is best.
