Poop Marshmallows 3 Ways

We're making POOP MARSHMALLOWS 3 different ways! No matter what kitchen tools you have, you can have some poop! haha FULL RECIPE BELOW!

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ tsp powdered gelatin
  • 1/3 cup + ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • cooking spray
  • piping bag
  • ½ cup confectioner’s sugar
  • ½ cup corn starch

Instructions

  • Pour 1/3 cup of cold water into the bowl of an electric mixer and sprinkle the powdered gelatin on top. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Place the sugar and ¼ cup cold water in a small pot and set to medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar has melted.
  • Attach a candy thermometer to the pot and boil the sugar until it reaches 240F. Brush the sides of the pot with a wet pastry brush if sugar crystals stick to the sides.
  • Add the hot sugar to the gelatin and stir the mixture by hand whisking for a few minutes to slightly cool. Then beat with an electric mixer on medium-high speed for 8-10 minutes, until soft peaks form. Add the cocoa powder and mix until fully combined.

To make 3D poop with a piping bag:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat baking mat.
  • Spoon the marshmallow mixture into a piping bag fitted with a medium-sized piping tip.
  • Pipe swirls onto the baking sheet, just like you would pipe a swirl of buttercream onto a cupcake!
  • Allow the marshmallow to sit, uncovered, at room temperature overnight.
  • Use a butter knife or cake decorating spatula to detach the marshmallows from the tray. Continue with the instructions below.

To make 3D poop with a mold:

  • Spray a poop-shaped mold generously with cooking spray.
  • Spoon the marshmallow mixture into a piping bag and snip off the end, creating a medium-sized hole at the end.
  • Pipe the marshmallow mixture into the mold. Using a piping bag will ensure that the marshmallow mixture gets into every crevice of the mold, especially the tip of the poop! xD
  • Allow the marshmallow to sit, uncovered, at room temperature overnight.
  • Gently turn the mold upside down and wiggle to release the marshmallows. Continue with the instructions below.

To make 2D poop with a cookie cutter:

  • Line a 9” square baking dish with parchment paper. Generously spray the parchment paper with cooking spray.
  • Pour the marshmallow mixture into the pan and smooth the surface with a silicone spatula.
  • Allow the marshmallow to sit, uncovered, at room temperature overnight.
  • Spray a poop-shaped cookie cutter with cooking spray and cut out marshmallows. If the shape isn’t as pronounced as you’d like, you can use a sharp knife to tidy the edges.

Directions continued for all shapes:

  • Combine the confectioner’s sugar and corn starch. Place it in a mesh sieve and dust it over all surfaces of the marshmallows.
  • Place the marshmallows in an empty mesh sieve and bounce them a few times to remove any excess sugar mixture.
  • Enjoy! These are best eaten the same day, but can be stored in a Ziploc bag overnight.
