Ingredients

Bunny-shaped sugar cookies

  • 1 lb icing sugar
  • 2 large egg whites
  • water
  • food coloring
  • piping bags
  • small, round piping tips

Instructions

For the Icing

    (Icing A)

    • Mix sugar and eggs together with an electric mixer, and add ¼ – ½ cup of water on low speed.
    • Mix until the icing forms a ribbon when drizzled, and stays for 5 seconds. You may need to add more icing sugar.
    • Divide the icing into as many bowls as you need depending on how many colours you will be using.
    • Add food colouring to the individual bowls until you reach your desired colours.

    (Icing B)

    • For the colours that you wish to use as base colours (the colours for the dresses/large areas), divide the colours into two bowls each, and into one of the two bowls, add a little bit of water to make the icing more runny.

    Decorating

    • Make the dress/accessories first: With a piping bag filled with a narrow tip, trace the outline of the bunny’s dress/ribbon/hat with the desired colour (icing A), making sure to connect the beginning of the line to the end. Let this set until hard.
    • With icing B in the same colour, fill in the outline of what you drew. Let this set until it is hard.
    • When the base design is finished, decorate the bunny’s face and outfit with icing A in a different colour. You may use a more narrow icing tip if you are doing detailed patterns. Let set and enjoy!
