Fuzzy Slipper Cakes | ふわふわのスリッパのケーキ

Ingredients (makes 4 slippers total, recipe can be halved to just make 2 slippers!)

Cake Batter:
2 1/3 cup cake flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 3/4 cups sugar
2 large eggs
4 large egg whites
½ cup buttermilk
2/3 cup strawberry jam
1 tsp vanilla extract
pink food colouring
1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, finely chopped

2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
5 cups confectioner’s sugar
pink and purple food colouring


Bake the cake:
1. Sift the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a bowl and mix together. In a separate bowl, combine the jam, buttermilk and vanilla extract. Set both bowls aside.
2. In a large bowl, whip the butter and sugar together with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy. Then add the eggs and egg whites one at a time, mixing after each addition. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture in 3 additions, alternating with the buttermilk mixture (flour>buttermilk>flour>buttermilk>flour), gently mixing after each addition. Then add the diced strawberries and pink food colouring and mix until just combined.
3. Divide the batter between 2 greased 9-inch loaf pans and bake at 350F for 1 hour, or until fully cooked. Cool for 20 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto a cooling rack and cool completely.

Make the buttercream:
1. Beat the butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and beat to combine. Add the confectioner’s sugar one cup at a time, then beat for 3-5 minutes until fluffy.
2. Dye about 1 cup of the buttercream purple and the rest pink.

1. Slice the loaves diagonally, to create 2 triangles out of each loaf. Carve the triangles to create slippers, then place in the freezer for 10-20 minutes, or until firm.
2. Coat the entire surface of the cakes in a thin layer of pink buttercream. Return to the freezer for a couple minutes for the buttercream to stiffen. Spread some extra pink buttercream around the edges of the soles of the slippers, then spread some purple buttercream onto the soles. Place the remaining pink buttercream in a piping bag fitted with a #233 grass/fur piping tip and pipe onto the front of the slipper. To create the most fluffy look, place the piping tip directly onto the cake and pipe in an upward motion. Enjoy!

❤バニラエッセンス 小さじ1
❤生いちご(角に切った) カップ1.5

❤無塩バター(室温に戻した) カップ2
❤バニラエッセンス 小さじ1
❤粉糖 カップ5



①バターをボウルに入れ、泡だて器でふわふわになるまで泡立てる。バニラエッセンスを加え、よく混ぜる。 粉糖を1カップずつ加え、よく混ぜる。ふわふわになるまで3~5分泡立てる。
