Watermelon Dango (Rice Balls) |スイカの団子

Ingredients (makes 8 balls)
– 80g shiratamako flour
– 50-100ml water
– pink and green food colouring

Directions
1. Gradually pour the water into the shiratamako flour until the proper consistency is reached. You should be able to roll it into a ball and have it hold its shape when you place it down. If it’s too soft, gradually add more flour until this consistency is reached.
2. Divide the dough into 3 balls. Dye one ball pink, one ball green and leave the remaining ball white. Divide the pink dough into 8 pieces and roll them into balls. Divide the white dough into 9 balls. Set one ball aside – this will be used for the stripes on the outside of the watermelon. Flatten the other white balls into thin pancakes and wrap them around the pink balls. Repeat with the green dough, dividing it into 8 balls and wrapping it around the now white balls. Roll the remaining white dough into little strips and stick onto the balls
3. Place in a pot of boiling water. Once they float to the surface, boil for 1 minute, then drain and place in ice water to stop the cooking.
4. Slide them onto a skewer and enjoy!

材料(8個分)
❤白玉粉 80g
❤水 50~100ml
❤ピンク色と緑色の食用色素

作り方
①水を白玉粉に少しずつ加える。耳たぶと同じ柔らかさになるまで水を加える。加えすぎる場合、白玉粉をもう少し加え、混ぜる。
②3等分に分け、ピンク色、緑色と白色に着色する。ピンク色の生地を8等分に分け、丸める。白色の生地を9等分に分け、スイカの縞に使う1個を別にしておく。残り8個を平らにし、ピンク色の生地を白色のほうに包む。緑色の生地と同様にする。残りの白色の生地で縞を作り、スイカにつける。
③鍋に水を沸騰し、白玉を入れる。浮かんでくると1分ゆで、水げを切り、氷水につける。
④串に刺すと完成です!
