How to Peel a Tomato

Technique 1
1. Remove the stem and use a serrated vegetable peeler to remove the skin. Using a serrated peeler (versus a regular vegetable peeler) will catch the smooth skin of the tomato and make it so easy to peel!

Technique 2
1. Remove the stem of the tomato.
2. Blanche in boiling water for 15-20 seconds.
3. Submerge in ice water, then pull off the skin with your hands. The skin will magically slide right off!

Technique 3
1. Remove the stem of the tomato.
2. Place in a microwave-safe bowl or mug and completely cover with boiling water.
3. Microwave for 15-20 seconds.
4. Submerge in ice water, then peel with your hands.

Technique 4
1. Remove the stem of the tomato and hold it with kitchen tongs.
2. Carefully blister the surface of the tomato with a kitchen torch.
3. Plunge into ice water, then peel.

Technique 5
1. Remove the stem of the tomato and place on a baking sheet.
2. Roast at 400F until the skin splits, about 10-15 minutes.
3. Carefully peel – it will be hot!
